Synscscape Design

Syncscape combines "Synchronicity" (Sync) and "Landscape" (Scape), focusing on seamless designs that connect urban spaces with nature.

Design Philosophy and Framework

FORM

The "aesthetics." It triggers an emotional response, creates a brand identity, and dictates whether a design looks visually balanced and attractive.

FUNCTIONS

The "utility." It measures practicality, user experience (UX), and whether the design fulfills its intended purpose.

BIOPHILIC

The innate human desire to connect with nature and other living things. Biophilic design seeks to strengthen the connection between people and nature. It recognizes that human well-being is enhanced through regular interaction with natural systems and elements.

Combining FFB

Combining the FFB

The principles of Form, Function, and Biophilic Design provide a comprehensive framework for landscape architecture. Form establishes visual character and spatial quality, Function ensures practical performance and usability, while Biophilic Design strengthens the relationship between people and nature. When integrated thoughtfully, these principles create landscapes that are aesthetically compelling, highly functional, environmentally responsible, and beneficial to human well-being. When the FFB comes together, the ultimate effect will be what we now call “vibes”, and the style of designs will convey that emotional language of “vibes”.

Styles and Vibes

At Syncscape, we take the client’s brief very seriously and it forms the basis of our designs for the project, as we believe that, the garden needs to evoke the personality of the owner/s and it needs to be a place and space where the Form meets Function, be it space for outdoor dining, or a space where outdoor hidden speakers are incorporated to enjoy a glass of champagne with soft jazz music playing amongst the greenery. This is where the biophilic designs plays a crucial guide pole in ensuring that the line of sight to greenery is always ever present within the space, blurring the line of indoor and outdoor, be it by the verandah, patio or semi-outdoor terrace space.

The Founder

KENNETH LIM

Founder and Creative Director of Syncscape. He is an observer of nature and an avid gardener who does his regular walks in nature reserves, Botanical Gardens and National Parks around the Southeast Asia region and Europe. Plants are second nature to him.

He grew up with a horticulturist & botanist father whose hobbies were in orchid breeding and cultivations in an era when cut-orchid industry was still in it’s infancy, and the senior Lim was looking at ways to create hybrids that blooms more, and more often in order for orchid farming is be a viable business. The Senior Lim was also one of the early founding members of the now defunct Nanyang Orchid Society in Singapore, where he often took part in Orchid Appreciation competitions in Singapore and around the Southeast Asia Region.

These formative years of influence from his father have shaped Kenneth’s appreciation for botany, horticulture science, and nature from a young age. He gradually developed his own perspective and understanding for plants and nature, and started dabbling into gardening as a form of destress mechanism from the busy corporate world, revamping his own garden at home, helping friends and family with their gardening needs, and it wasn’t until he rebuilt his own family house in Singapore in the early 2000s and that he realised he wasn’t able to find a reliable landscape architecture company that understands his brief to create the look of the garden he has envisioned, thus he decided to take on the project himself, design, dictate plant specifications, to ordering the inventory, and project managing the executions.
